Power Outages

  • Should I call about outages or are you aware of them?
We are not aware of all outages so please call us if your service is off.

  • Why do you ask so many questions when I call about an outage?
If you are the only customer experiencing an outage, we want to be sure that the problem requires a field visit. Many customers who call have a problem that we cannot repair. In many cases it is a circuit breaker that has tripped and you will be on much faster if you flip the breaker.

  • Why do I get those short outages?
The electrical system works much like breakers in a house. If tree branches or moisture cause a short, the line it is on may trip out.

    Cable Locates

  • How do I locate the cable before digging?
Call our Customer Service Department at 949-5200 for more information.

    Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands BWI

  • What is the fuel factor item that appears on my bill each month?
The Company's Fuel Adjustment mechanism, which is similar to those used by electric utilities around the world, passes on changes in the cost of fuel to customers automatically in accordance with the terms of its Licence with the Cayman Islands Government. It is one of the most efficient ways of dealing with fluctuating fuel costs. The Fuel Adjustment Charge does not add to CUC's rate of return or profit. All funds collected from the charge goes directly to the oil suppliers and the Cayman Islands Government for the duty on fuel. No part of it is kept by CUC. Please visit our Fuel Factor section for more information.

  • Where can I get a job application?
