A security deposit is required to activate a postpaid metered service. No deposit is required for prepaid services. For an existing location, the deposit is assessed upon the historical consumption data available and charged at the equivalent of the average of six (6) weeks of consumption. For new locations, the deposit is calculated upon the basis of the electrical load sheet which should be provided with the application. Once a completed application is submitted, a member of the CUC Customer Services team will contact you to provide the deposit amount and offer various methods of payment.
More information regarding security deposits is available in the Customer Service Code. Please be sure to review the Customer Service Code prior to applying for electricity.
